Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappuccino

A Starbucks Inspired Recipe you can make in 5 minutes or less

In the midst of the summer heat, I am continually reminded of a fact that I already know: Summer is hot. So hot.

One of the best ways to cool down those hot summer days is with a icy cold blended drink. Even better if it is a Frapp!

EVEN better if I can make it at home and save money.

The Vanilla Bean flavor is one of my absolute favorites and later on in the afternoon, at the peak heat of a summer day, I prefer to have something without any caffeine, so that makes this drink a perfect frosty treat on a hot summer day.

After a day at the beach, an afternoon running through a sprinkler, or a backyard barbecue, we all like to take a break from the heat and cool off with a treat. Blended coffee drinks are refreshing and delicious, but it can be a special treat for the whole family to blend something up that does not include caffeine.

Does it matter which Blender I use?

In short, yes. Anytime you are attempting to blend, crush, or shave ice, the more power the better. One of the best value, but powerful, blenders I have used is this Hamilton Beach model, typically available for under $30 from Amazon.

However, when combining or blending ice, or any raw ingredients, more power is always better. A Ninja Blender is an excellent mid-priced model with loads of power behind it. You can also order the Ninja blender right off of amazon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk, I have found that this works the best with a fuller fat milk (2% or whole)

  • 1 cup ice, if you are not using a powerful blender, the best strategy will be to use already crushed ice

  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • Whipped cream (if desired!)

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth

  • Pour your Frappuccino into a large glass and dollop freshly made whipped cream or spray some ready made whipped cream from a pressurized can on top

  • Enjoy!
